Are Tolo Toys Phthalate free?

Phthalates or ‘plasticizers’ are a group of chemicals used to make plastics like PVC (polyvinyl chloride) more flexible or resilient.  Tolo Toys are predominantly made from ABS plastic which is phthalate free and where PVC is present, you can rest assured that it is phthalate free PVC.

Do Tolo Toys contain BPA?

Bisphenol A is a chemical used in the production of polycarbonate plastics which are commonly used to make feeding bottles. No credible scientific evidence, however, has yet been found as to whether BPA is damaging to humans. Tolo Toys are tested and conform to the rigorous European EN71 and American CPSIA standards and are made of ABS plastic where BPA is not found.

What is SA 8000?

Tolo is one of the few toy companies worldwide that is accredited with SA 8000. This prestigious standard refers to fair labour, ethical manufacturing and social and environmental accountability in the workplace.

What are Tolo’s quality control procedures?

Tolo Toys Ltd is an ISO 9001 accredited company which prides itself on the quality of its goods. We operate both an in-line QC and final pre-shipment inspection system within our factories, inspecting to Tolo’s exceptional quality levels.

How do Tolo ensure magnets in products are secure?

Some Tolo soft toys contain magnets which are placed within a bag and the bag is sewn together.  To ensure the integrity of the seams on the sewn bag, a double row of stitching is used. The sewn bag containing the magnet is then secured internally to the item and a 100% final QC check is then carried out.

Where are Tolo Toys manufactured?

All Tolo toys are made in Southern China while the main Tolo headquarters is situated in Hong Kong.

How should Tolo Toys be cleaned?

Unless otherwise stated, all Tolo soft toys should be surfaced cleaned only to ensure all the educational activities within them do not get water damaged. Some Tolo soft toys are machine washable at 30 degrees centigrade, however please refer to the product sew in label for further information. Tolo plastic Bath Toys have been specifically designed to be used in water so therefore can be submerged in water for cleaning. All other Tolo plastic products should be surface cleaned only as some may not be water tight. Please do not subject your Tolo Toys to heat sterilisation or boiling water and avoid putting them in the microwave. If you do wish to sterilize your Tolo Toy, please use a cold water sterilisation method on the surface of the product.
